SEN Teaching Assistant – Tamworth

£90–£100 per day | Full-time and flexible opportunities

GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist primary and secondary school in Tamworth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their education and development.

The school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), so we are looking for individuals who are patient, adaptable and confident building positive relationships with children.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs across primary and secondary age groups.

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.

  • Helping pupils access lessons and engage with classroom activities.

  • Supporting communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence.

  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.

  • A patient, caring and positive approach.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

DBS Requirements: Candidates must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. If you do not currently hold one, GSL Education can provide a link to apply. However, the cost of the application will need to be covered by the candidate.
