Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a dependable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with a welcoming school in Worksop. This role is suited to someone who can provide clear instructions, supervise classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment while the regular teacher is absent.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes and ensure pupils complete the work provided by teaching staff.
- Explain instructions clearly and help students understand their tasks.
- Maintain classroom routines and promote positive behaviour.
- Encourage pupils to remain focused and work independently.
- Respond calmly to classroom challenges and follow school procedures.
- Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate member of staff.
- Support a safe and productive atmosphere throughout the school day.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
- Experience in a school, tutoring, youth work or another relevant setting would be beneficial.
- Confident communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to establish clear boundaries and maintain a calm approach.
- Reliable, organised and adaptable attitude.
- Ability to work effectively with teaching and support staff.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
