About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant (Primary), you will work alongside the class teacher to support learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. From supporting early reading and numeracy to helping pupils develop positive social skills, your contribution will help create an enjoyable and supportive learning experience.

About the School:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils understand and complete learning tasks.

  • Assist with early literacy, numeracy and other age-appropriate learning activities.

  • Encourage children's confidence, independence and participation in lessons.

  • Help maintain a safe, organised and engaging classroom environment.

  • Support pupils with social development, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.

  • Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation.

  • Observe pupils' progress and share relevant feedback with the class teacher.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.

  • A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to support children with different learning styles and needs.

  • Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.

  • A genuine interest in children's education and development.
