About the Role:

About the School:

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.

  • Work alongside subject teachers to encourage participation and minimise disruption during lessons.

  • Help pupils manage transitions between classrooms and different parts of the school day.

  • Build positive, professional relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries.

  • Support individual pupils and small groups in developing appropriate behaviour and learning habits.

  • Monitor progress, record relevant observations and communicate concerns to teaching and pastoral staff.

  • Follow school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures consistently.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people is desirable.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to challenging situations.

  • Confidence in maintaining boundaries and managing behaviour appropriately.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams.

  • A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

  • Experience in behaviour support, pastoral care or a secondary school setting is advantageous.
