Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

Can you confidently lead a classroom, keep pupils on task and ensure learning continues when their usual teacher is absent?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in a welcoming school in Doncaster. This position is suitable for someone with strong communication and organisational skills who can supervise students, deliver pre-prepared work and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
- Distribute and explain pre-prepared lesson materials.
- Encourage pupils to remain focused and complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain classroom routines and promote positive behaviour.
- Follow school policies and report any concerns to the relevant staff.
- Respond calmly to classroom challenges.
- Help provide a safe and productive learning environment.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Confident communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to supervise groups and maintain professional boundaries.
- A flexible, organised and responsible approach.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
