About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step in when teachers are absent, supervise classes and guide students through work prepared by teaching staff. You'll give clear instructions, encourage pupils to complete their tasks and manage behaviour to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn. This position offers a chance to build your classroom experience, develop valuable skills and contribute to students' progress without being responsible for planning or delivering specialist subject lessons.

Responsibilities:
-
Supervise classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.
-
Explain tasks clearly and ensure students understand what is expected of them.
-
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
-
Encourage students to stay engaged and complete the work provided.
-
Take registers and report attendance, behaviour or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate staff.
-
Provide feedback to teachers on lesson progress and any issues that arise.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
-
Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining appropriate behaviour.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A flexible, patient and professional approach.
-
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
-
A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development.
