About the Role:
You'll work alongside subject teachers and pastoral staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. From helping pupils manage their behaviour in lessons to supporting smooth transitions between classes, you'll play an important part in maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment. Your patience, consistency and ability to build professional relationships will help students stay engaged and develop better strategies for managing challenges.
About the School:
The school is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment where secondary-aged pupils can learn, develop and work towards their potential. Staff take a collaborative approach to behaviour management and pastoral care, with clear expectations and support in place to help students make positive choices.
Responsibilities:
-
Support secondary-aged pupils with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
-
Work with subject teachers across different departments to encourage positive participation in lessons.
-
Help students manage transitions between lessons and follow school routines.
-
Promote respectful behaviour while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
-
Support pupils who are struggling to engage with classroom activities.
-
Share observations about behaviour and progress with teaching and pastoral staff.
-
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements:
-
Experience working with young people, particularly secondary-aged pupils, is desirable.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A calm, patient and resilient approach to challenging situations.
-
Confidence maintaining boundaries and managing behaviour fairly.
-
Ability to work effectively with teachers and pastoral teams.
