Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Would you enjoy leading a classroom, keeping students engaged and helping their school day run smoothly? A secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to support its teaching team.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll supervise classes when teachers are absent, guide students through pre-prepared lesson activities and help maintain a positive learning environment. You'll work with pupils across different subjects, encouraging them to stay on task and follow classroom expectations. If you're adaptable, enjoy working with young people and can take the lead when needed, this could be a rewarding next step.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across a range of subjects during teachers' absences.

Deliver instructions and guide students through the work provided.

Maintain classroom behaviour and ensure school rules are followed.

Encourage pupils to participate and complete their assigned tasks.

Respond calmly to classroom challenges and seek support when needed.

Provide feedback to teaching staff on completed work and any concerns.
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident communication and classroom management skills.

A calm, professional and adaptable approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently.

Strong organisational skills and reliability.

Previous experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
