Are you confident leading a classroom and helping students stay focused on their learning? A secondary school in Worksop is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to support its teaching team and ensure lessons run smoothly.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teachers' planned or unexpected absences, helping students follow lesson plans and complete their work. You'll be responsible for maintaining classroom expectations, keeping pupils engaged and creating a positive atmosphere where learning can continue. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain further experience in education.

About the School:

The school aims to provide a supportive and well-organised learning environment where students are encouraged to take responsibility for their education. Staff work together to maintain clear expectations, promote positive behaviour and help pupils make the most of their time in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students understand the tasks set.

  • Maintain good classroom behaviour and encourage students to stay on task.

  • Support pupils with their work where appropriate, following the teacher's instructions.

  • Manage classroom routines and respond calmly to any issues that arise.

  • Report back to teaching staff on lesson progress, attendance and any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Confident communication and classroom management skills.

  • A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

  • Ability to follow lesson plans and manage a classroom independently.

  • A positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting students' learning.

  • Previous experience in a school or similar setting is advantageous.
