Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time
Are you confident taking charge of a classroom and ensuring pupils stay focused when their usual teacher is absent?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a dependable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with a warm and welcoming school in Worksop. This opportunity would suit someone who can follow prepared lesson plans, manage classroom routines and help maintain a positive learning environment.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes during the absence of the regular teacher.
- Explain lesson instructions and ensure pupils understand their tasks.
- Maintain classroom routines and encourage positive behaviour.
- Support pupils in completing the work provided.
- Respond calmly to classroom challenges.
- Report concerns and incidents to the appropriate school staff.
- Help maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience in education, tutoring or youth work would be beneficial.
- Confidence managing groups and maintaining classroom expectations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organised in challenging situations.
- Reliable, adaptable and professional approach.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
