Salary: £460–£650 per week (Depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work with schools across Worksop.
The successful candidate will supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain focused, engaged and supported while completing pre-planned lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience in education and make a positive contribution to pupils' learning and development.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Support pupils in completing pre-planned lessons and learning activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Manage pupil behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Encourage pupils to remain focused, engaged and motivated throughout lessons.
- Take accurate registers and report attendance or behaviour concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Provide appropriate guidance to pupils while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Monitor pupils' engagement and report any concerns to teaching staff.
- Adapt confidently to different subjects, year groups and classroom environments.
- Follow school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour procedures at all times.
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Previous experience in a school, education, youth work or similar setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
- Confidence in maintaining positive behaviour and managing classroom situations.
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
- A reliable, professional and proactive attitude.
- A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
