Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident managing a classroom and helping students stay engaged with their learning? A secondary school in Worksop is looking for a dependable Cover Supervisor to support pupils and ensure lessons run smoothly.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teachers' absences, deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and help students stay focused on their work. You'll work with different year groups, manage classroom behaviour and provide a consistent learning environment throughout the school day. This role is ideal if you enjoy working with young people and want to build your experience in education.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-prepared work and ensure students understand the tasks set.

Maintain positive behaviour and manage classroom disruptions appropriately.

Encourage students to remain focused and complete their work.

Follow school policies and maintain a safe learning environment.

Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate members of staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Confident classroom management and communication skills.

A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently.

Confidence managing groups of students and maintaining clear boundaries.

A genuine interest in supporting young people's education.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
