Job Title: Teacher of MFL
Location: Ripon, North Yorkshire
Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)
Are you a passionate Modern Foreign Languages Teacher who can inspire pupils to develop their language skills and explore different cultures? Do you have a specialism in French and German and the ability to deliver engaging lessons that build confidence, fluency and a love of learning?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Teacher of MFL to work in a secondary school in Ripon. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher with a French and German specialism to support pupils’ language development and encourage an appreciation of different cultures. The position is offered as maternity cover, providing an opportunity to make a positive contribution to pupils’ learning and progress during this period.
Teacher of MFL Role:
The successful Teacher of MFL will plan and deliver engaging French and German lessons that develop pupils’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. You will create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, builds confidence and supports learners of different abilities to achieve their potential.
Teacher of MFL Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging French and German lessons in line with curriculum requirements and learning objectives.
- Develop pupils’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through varied teaching methods and activities.
- Encourage pupils to build confidence in using languages and develop an understanding of different cultures.
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Assess pupils’ progress, provide constructive feedback and identify areas for further development.
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and create a supportive environment that promotes participation and achievement.
Teacher of MFL Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and a specialism in French and German.
- Experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages at secondary level is desirable.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate pupils.
- A flexible, enthusiastic and reflective approach to teaching, with a commitment to high standards and pupil progress.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
