Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident leading a classroom and helping students stay focused on their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to support pupils and ensure lessons run smoothly in the absence of their usual teachers.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising classes, delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and keeping students engaged throughout the school day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, can manage a classroom confidently and wants to gain valuable experience in education.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and ensure students complete the work set by their teachers.

Maintain positive behaviour and manage classroom expectations.

Provide clear instructions and support students with their learning tasks.

Respond calmly to classroom challenges and follow the school's behaviour policies.

Ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.

Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate members of staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Confidence in leading a class and maintaining discipline.

A flexible, proactive and reliable approach to work.

Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently when required.

A genuine interest in education and supporting students' progress.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
