Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking skilled and innovative Design and Technology Teachers to inspire students and deliver practical, engaging learning experiences in amazing schools throughout Sheffield. We are seeking qualified educators who can deliver engaging practical lessons, develop students' technical knowledge, and encourage independent thinking through design, innovation, and hands-on learning.
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons that combine theoretical understanding with practical skills, helping learners explore design processes, materials, manufacturing techniques, and technological applications.
D&T Teacher Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver creative Design and Technology lessons that combine practical activities, technical knowledge, and innovative thinking.
- Teach students about design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and practical techniques
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking through project-based learning
- Demonstrate the safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and workshop resources
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve technical and creative skills
- Maintain a safe, organised, and inclusive learning environment that supports practical activities
DT Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology, including practical and theoretical components
- Previous experience teaching Design and Technology
- Understanding of workshop safety procedures and effective classroom management
- Ability to deliver engaging lessons that accommodate different abilities and learning needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
