Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary, Secondary and SEN)

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils with their learning, confidence and development. Depending on the setting, you could be supporting early learning in a primary classroom, helping secondary pupils engage with lessons across different subjects, or providing personalised support to pupils with special educational needs. In SEN settings, you may help pupils develop communication, social skills and independence, adapt activities to their individual abilities, and support their emotional regulation and participation in learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning in primary, secondary or SEN settings, depending on the role.

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and help pupils understand lesson content.

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, participation and independence.

  • Adapt support to suit pupils' individual learning needs and abilities.

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and structured classroom environment.

  • Monitor pupils' progress and share relevant feedback with teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, adaptable and supportive approach.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Confidence supporting pupils with different learning needs and abilities.

  • A genuine commitment to helping children and young people succeed.
