About the Role:

From providing one-to-one guidance to supporting students during lessons and transitions between classes, you'll help maintain consistent expectations and encourage a more positive approach to school life. This role is ideal for someone who can offer patience, clear boundaries and practical support when students need it most.

Responsibilities:

  • Support secondary-aged students with behaviour management, emotional regulation and classroom engagement.

  • Work with subject teachers to implement appropriate behaviour strategies across different departments.

  • Provide individual and small-group support to students who need additional guidance.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, respectful communication and responsible decision-making.

  • Support smooth transitions between lessons and help students settle into learning activities.

  • Monitor student behaviour and share relevant observations with teaching and pastoral staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged children or young people is desirable.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional, positive relationships.

  • A patient, resilient and consistent approach to behaviour management.

  • Confidence maintaining boundaries and responding calmly to challenging situations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams.

  • A genuine interest in helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
