Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and helping students get the most out of their lessons? A secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a capable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support learning and maintain a positive classroom environment.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step in when teachers are absent, overseeing classes and ensuring students complete the work provided. You'll explain lesson tasks, manage behaviour and keep pupils focused throughout the school day. This is a great opportunity to build your experience in education while making a practical difference to students' learning.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and clarify instructions where needed.

Maintain appropriate classroom behaviour and follow school policies.

Encourage students to remain engaged and complete assigned tasks.

Adapt to different classes, subjects and year groups throughout the day.

Report any concerns or incidents to the relevant member of staff.

Help maintain a safe, orderly and productive learning environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence leading a class and maintaining students' attention.

A patient, adaptable and professional approach.

Ability to respond calmly to challenging behaviour.

A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's progress.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
