Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident leading a classroom and helping students stay focused on their learning? A secondary school in Worksop is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support students and maintain a positive learning environment.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during teachers' absences, ensuring students remain engaged and complete the work set for them. You'll manage classroom behaviour, provide clear instructions and help keep lessons running smoothly. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a meaningful contribution to their school experience.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across different subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and explain tasks clearly to students.

Maintain positive behaviour and ensure classroom rules are followed.

Encourage students to remain focused and complete assigned work.

Respond calmly to classroom challenges and follow the school's behaviour policies.

Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate member of staff.

Help maintain a safe, orderly and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Confidence leading a class and giving clear instructions.

A calm, adaptable and professional approach.

Ability to manage challenging behaviour and respond appropriately.

A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's progress.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
