Are you a dedicated and adaptable Tutor who enjoys helping young people reach their full potential? Do you have the patience and skills to provide personalised learning support and build confidence in pupils who may face barriers to education?

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Tutor to support learners in Bridlington. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to provide individual, one-to-one tuition, tailoring learning sessions to pupils’ abilities and helping them make meaningful academic progress in a supportive environment.

Tutor Role:

The successful Tutor will provide personalised tuition to individual pupils, adapting teaching approaches to their learning needs, abilities and educational goals. You will build positive relationships with learners, encourage engagement and independence, and create a structured learning environment where pupils feel supported to achieve their potential.

Tutor Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individual tuition sessions tailored to each pupil’s learning needs and objectives.
  • Support pupils with core subjects, particularly English and Maths, where appropriate to your subject expertise.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate different abilities, learning styles and additional needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence, motivation and independent learning.
  • Monitor progress, assess understanding and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment while following safeguarding procedures.

Tutor Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching, tutoring or subject-specific qualifications are desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a teaching, tutoring or educational support role is advantageous.
  • Strong subject knowledge in the areas you are confident teaching, particularly English and/or Maths.
  • Excellent communication, patience and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to individual learning needs.
  • A flexible, encouraging and proactive approach to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
