SEND Intervention Practitioner

Location: Tunbridge Wells
Salary: £93.33+ per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

As a SEND Intervention Practitioner, you will play an important role in delivering tailored support and interventions that help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop essential academic, social, and emotional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised one-to-one and small-group interventions tailored to pupils' individual needs.
  • Assist in planning and implementing targeted interventions in line with individual education plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Encourage pupils' communication, emotional regulation, independence, and social development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEND staff to support pupils' academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, celebrating achievements and sharing relevant observations with teaching staff.
  • Adapt support strategies to meet pupils' changing learning and developmental needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a SEND Intervention Practitioner, SEN Teaching Assistant, or in a similar SEND support role is preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse additional needs.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to deliver personalised support and follow individual learning plans.
  • A genuine passion for helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
  • A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are preferable but not essential.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
