SEND Intervention Practitioner
Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £93.33+ per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education Kent are seeking a committed individual to join a welcoming specialist school that provides personalised education and support for children and young people with a range of additional needs.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a consistent Monday–Friday routine and has experience supporting pupils with autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, speech and communication difficulties, and complex learning requirements. As a SEND Intervention Practitioner, you will play an important role in delivering tailored support and interventions that help pupils develop their skills, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

As a SEND Intervention Practitioner, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist support staff to promote pupils' educational progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. Your support will help pupils strengthen their communication, develop independence, and engage more confidently in their learning and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions tailored to pupils' individual needs
- Support pupils with communication, sensory regulation, and emotional development
- Implement appropriate strategies to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Promote independence, daily living skills, and meaningful pupil engagement
- Follow individual learning plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) carefully
- Monitor pupils' progress and contribute to their ongoing development
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care, or similar setting
- A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
- A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Ability to follow safeguarding and behaviour support procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
