SEND Intervention Practitioner

Salary: £93.33+ per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking a committed SEND Intervention Practitioner to join a nurturing specialist school in Tonbridge. You will work with pupils aged 2 to 19 with complex needs, including autism and profound learning difficulties, delivering tailored support to help them build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their individual goals in a caring and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities of the SEND Intervention Practitioner include:
- Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to meet pupils' individual needs
- Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
- Helping pupils develop communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills
- Supporting pupils with sensory needs, behaviour, and personal care where required
- Encouraging independence, functional learning, and essential life skills
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support pupil progress
- Promoting a safe, positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The ideal SEND Intervention Practitioner will have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care, or specialist support setting
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach when working with pupils with complex needs
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learning and developmental needs
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one
