Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Do you enjoy helping children learn, grow in confidence and get the most from their time in school? A welcoming primary school in Chesterfield is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support learning throughout the school day. You may provide one-to-one or small-group support, help pupils stay engaged with activities and assist with classroom routines across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
You will also play a key part in supporting children's social and emotional development, helping them build independence and feel confident in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities and learning.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.

Assist pupils with reading, writing, numeracy and other age-appropriate learning.

Help children develop confidence, independence and positive classroom habits.

Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs appropriately.

Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised classroom.

Encourage positive participation in lessons, play and wider school activities.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children is desirable.

Experience within a primary school or similar educational setting is advantageous.

A patient, caring and consistent approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other support staff.

Confidence supporting children across different abilities and stages of development.

A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
