Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident managing a classroom and able to keep students focused when their usual teacher is unavailable? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join its team.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and continue with the work provided by their teachers. You will be responsible for maintaining a calm and orderly classroom, managing behaviour appropriately and supporting students throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across different subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.

  • Deliver pre-set work and ensure students understand the tasks provided.

  • Maintain a calm, focused and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's expectations and policies.

  • Support students with their learning and encourage positive engagement.

  • Take accurate registers and report any relevant issues to teaching staff.

  • Provide appropriate feedback to teachers following lessons.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Confident classroom and behaviour-management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

  • Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.

  • Confidence working across different year groups and subject areas.

  • A genuine interest in supporting students within a secondary school environment.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
