Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them engage with lessons and manage the demands of the school day. You will work closely with teachers and support staff, providing one-to-one and small-group assistance, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils become more independent in their learning.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

Assist pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks.

Adapt support to meet individual learning and communication needs.

Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.

Work closely with teachers and other support staff to follow individual support strategies.

Monitor pupils' engagement and progress and share relevant observations with staff.

Help maintain a safe, calm and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.

A patient, compassionate and consistent approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Confidence supporting pupils with different learning and behavioural needs.

Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

A genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

SEN, education or care experience is advantageous.
