Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Secondary)

Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed and looking for a rewarding role in a secondary school? A supportive school in Doncaster is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work alongside teachers and provide valuable support to pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with their learning across different subjects and departments, working closely with subject teachers to help pupils stay engaged and make progress. Your day may include providing one-to-one or small-group support, helping students during lesson transitions and supporting positive behaviour. You may also assist pupils as they prepare for GCSEs, helping them build confidence and develop their independence.

Responsibilities:

Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with their learning.

Work alongside subject teachers to provide effective classroom support.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where appropriate.

Help students remain focused, engaged and organised during lessons.

Support positive behaviour and encourage students to develop their independence.

Assist pupils with lesson transitions and wider classroom routines.

Provide feedback to teachers regarding student engagement and progress.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, encouraging and consistent approach.

Confidence supporting adolescent learners across different subjects.

Ability to work effectively with teachers and other school staff.

A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Experience in a secondary school or education setting is advantageous.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
