Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising classes when their usual teacher is unavailable. You will deliver the work provided, manage behaviour and help students stay focused throughout the lesson. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience across different subjects while making a positive contribution to students' learning and progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.

  • Follow lesson plans and ensure students understand the work provided.

  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and address issues calmly and consistently.

  • Support students with their learning where appropriate.

  • Ensure the classroom remains safe, orderly and focused.

  • Provide relevant feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Confident classroom management and communication skills.

  • A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

  • Confidence working with students across different year groups.

  • Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
