Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident managing a classroom and looking for an opportunity to support students across a secondary school setting? A welcoming school in Sheffield is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain focused and engaged with the work provided. You will manage classroom behaviour, follow lesson plans and provide support where needed, helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes and ensure students complete the work provided by their teachers.

Follow lesson plans and provide clear instructions to students.

Manage classroom behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.

Support students with their learning where appropriate.

Maintain a safe, orderly and positive classroom environment.

Report any relevant issues or concerns to teaching and pastoral staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

A confident, calm and adaptable approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and work independently.

Commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning.

Experience in a school or education setting is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
