Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

Can you help young people manage difficult situations, develop healthier responses, and build the confidence to engage positively with their education?

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting resilient and approachable Behaviour Support staff to work in schools across Doncaster. We are seeking individuals who can build constructive relationships with students, understand the factors behind challenging behaviour, and provide consistent guidance that supports positive change.

As a Behaviour Support, you will work alongside teaching and pastoral teams to help learners regulate their emotions, understand expectations, and develop strategies that enable them to participate more successfully in school life.

Behaviour Support Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted guidance to young people experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties
  • Identify triggers and recognise early signs of frustration, conflict, or disengagement
  • Apply positive behaviour management and appropriate de-escalation techniques
  • Encourage students to reflect on their actions and develop more constructive responses
  • Reinforce clear routines, expectations, and appropriate boundaries
  • Communicate relevant observations and progress to teaching and pastoral colleagues

Behaviour Support Requirements:

  • Experience in education, mentoring, youth work, care, or a related environment is desirable
  • Understanding of positive behaviour management and de-escalation approaches
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
  • Confidence establishing clear boundaries while maintaining positive relationships
  • Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
