GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an MFL Teacher to join a secondary school in York. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to inspire pupils across Key Stages 3 and 5, raise aspirations and help learners achieve excellent outcomes in Modern Foreign Languages.

MFL Teacher Role:

The successful MFL Teacher will deliver engaging and creative lessons across French and Spanish, helping pupils develop their confidence and fluency while fostering a genuine enthusiasm for language learning. You will be expected to teach both French and Spanish at KS3, with the ability to teach either subject to KS5. Both ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

MFL Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and well-structured French and Spanish lessons across the relevant Key Stages.
  • Teach both French and Spanish at KS3 and either French or Spanish through to KS5.
  • Inspire pupils to develop strong language skills, cultural awareness and a genuine enthusiasm for MFL.
  • Adapt teaching and learning approaches to secure strong engagement, progress and achievement for all learners.
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
  • Take on a Form Tutor role, supporting pupils’ pastoral development, wellbeing and wider personal growth.

MFL Teacher Requirements:

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification; ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach both French and Spanish at KS3.
  • Ability to teach French or Spanish to KS5 with confidence.
  • An enthusiastic, creative and motivating approach to teaching, with high expectations for pupil achievement.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
