Supply Teaching Assistant

Contract: Supply / Ad-hoc / Full-Time / Part-Time

Salary: £92 – £115 per day

GSL Education are currently recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in York. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and education professionals looking for flexible work.

The Role

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you may be required to:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning.
  • Adapt support to meet individual pupils’ needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Support classroom routines and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Provide cover across different schools and settings where required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar.
  • SEND, SEMH or behaviour experience is desirable.
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Confident working across different school environments.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their potential.
