Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Are you confident managing a classroom, keeping students engaged, and ensuring lessons continue smoothly when the regular teacher is unavailable?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in welcoming schools across Worksop. We are looking for individuals who can take responsibility for classroom activities, communicate instructions clearly, and maintain a positive learning environment across different subjects and year groups.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise pre-planned lessons during teacher absence, helping young people stay focused, complete assigned tasks, and follow established classroom expectations.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes and deliver activities prepared by teaching staff
- Explain assigned tasks and provide clarification when needed
- Maintain a calm, organised, and productive classroom environment
- Encourage learners to remain engaged and complete their work independently
- Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies
- Report relevant information about student participation, conduct, and completed work to teachers
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in education, coaching, mentoring, or a similar setting is desirable
- Confidence supervising secondary-aged students across different subjects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of effective classroom management and positive behaviour strategies
- Organised, dependable, and flexible approach to school-based work
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
