Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are partnering with excellent schools in Doncaster to recruit creative and technically skilled Design and Technology Teacher. We are seeking qualified educators who can make practical learning engaging, introduce learners to different materials and processes, and encourage independent thinking throughout the design process.

As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will deliver practical and theory-based lessons that develop creativity, technical understanding, problem-solving abilities, and confidence with tools, materials, and manufacturing processes.

DT Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Design and Technology curriculum
  • Guide students through research, designing, prototyping, production, and evaluation
  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of tools, machinery, materials, and specialist equipment
  • Encourage experimentation, creative thinking, and practical problem-solving
  • Assess project work and provide constructive feedback to support development
  • Maintain appropriate health and safety standards throughout practical activities

D&T Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the Design and Technology curriculum
  • Practical understanding of relevant materials, processes, and workshop equipment
  • Previous experience teaching Design and Technology at a school or similar setting
  • Effective communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
