Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Can you confidently take responsibility for a classroom, maintain clear expectations, and keep learning on track when the regular teacher is absent?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in schools across Doncaster. We are looking for individuals who can communicate effectively with young people, manage different classroom situations, and maintain a focused learning environment across a variety of subjects.
The Cover Supervisor will oversee pre-planned lessons during teacher absence, ensuring learners understand the work provided, remain engaged, and follow established classroom expectations.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes using lesson plans and resources prepared by teaching staff
- Introduce assigned activities and clarify instructions where necessary
- Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour and classroom conduct
- Encourage students to remain focused and complete assigned work
- Respond to minor classroom issues in line with school procedures
- Provide relevant feedback to teaching staff regarding engagement and completed work
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, or a related environment is desirable
- Confidence supervising groups within a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of effective classroom and behaviour management approaches
- Reliable, organised, and adaptable approach to different subjects and year groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
