Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting energetic and committed Physical Education Teacher to work with active schools in Barnsley. We are seeking qualified educators who can deliver varied and engaging Physical Education lessons, motivate students of different abilities, and promote confidence, discipline, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles.
As a PE Teacher, you will deliver practical and theory-based learning across a range of sports and physical activities, helping learners improve their fitness, technical abilities, tactical awareness, and understanding of physical wellbeing.
PE Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across relevant key stages
- Lead individual and team sports using clear demonstrations and instructions
- Develop learners’ fitness, coordination, technique, and tactical understanding
- Adapt activities to accommodate different abilities and levels of confidence
- Encourage teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and responsible participation
- Maintain appropriate health and safety standards during lessons and sporting activities
PE Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the Physical Education curriculum
- Previous experience teaching PE within a school is desirable
- Confidence delivering a broad range of sports and physical activities
- Effective communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
