Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with a vibrant school in Sheffield. This opportunity would suit someone who can confidently manage a classroom, follow prepared lesson materials and maintain a positive learning environment throughout the school day.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes and ensure pupils complete the work provided.
- Give clear instructions and support students with their learning tasks.
- Maintain appropriate classroom routines and behaviour expectations.
- Encourage pupils to remain focused and work independently.
- Deal with classroom situations calmly and professionally.
- Liaise with teaching staff regarding pupils' progress or any concerns.
- Record and report relevant incidents where required.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar education-based role is encouraged.
- Confident approach to classroom and behaviour management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and consistent when dealing with challenging situations.
- Reliable, organised and adaptable approach to work.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
A dependable Cover Supervisor can help ensure that pupils continue to learn effectively even when their usual teacher is away. This role would suit someone who is confident taking responsibility and enjoys creating a calm and purposeful classroom environment.
