Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting knowledgeable and enthusiastic Computer Studies Teacher (CS) to work in tech savvy schools across Barnsley. We are seeking qualified educators who can make technical concepts accessible, combine theory with practical activities, and encourage students to develop confidence in programming, computing, and digital technologies.
As a CS Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across key areas of computing, helping learners develop computational thinking, programming knowledge, digital literacy, and logical problem-solving skills.
Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Computer Studies curriculum
- Teach programming concepts through practical coding activities and projects
- Explore algorithms, computer systems, networks, data, and cybersecurity
- Encourage logical thinking and structured approaches to technical challenges
- Assess progress through projects, classroom activities, and formal assessments
- Prepare examination groups through focused revision and targeted academic support
Computer Studies Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the Computing or Computer Studies curriculum
- Practical knowledge of programming and relevant digital technologies
- Previous experience teaching Computing, Computer Science, or ICT is desirable
- Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
