Job Title: Math Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

Can you help young people see Mathematics as more than numbers and develop the confidence to reason, investigate, and solve challenging problems?

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting knowledgeable and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to work in fabulous schools across Barnsley. We would like to hear from qualified educators who can explain mathematical concepts clearly, challenge different levels of ability, and encourage students to become confident and independent problem-solvers.

The Maths Teacher will deliver structured and engaging lessons across the Mathematics curriculum, strengthening numerical fluency, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Math Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons across relevant key stages
  • Explain numerical and abstract concepts using clear examples and appropriate methods
  • Develop reasoning and problem-solving skills through varied classroom activities
  • Adapt tasks and teaching approaches for different levels of ability
  • Assess attainment and provide constructive feedback to support progress
  • Prepare examination groups through targeted revision and assessment practice

Math Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum
  • Previous experience teaching Mathematics is desirable
  • Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Strong planning, assessment, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
