Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting excellent schools in Barnsley to recruit knowledgeable and enthusiastic Geography Teacher. We are seeking qualified educators who can bring geographical topics to life, encourage curiosity, and help students develop the analytical skills needed to understand both local and global issues.
As a Geography Teacher, you will have an opportunity to deliver engaging lessons across physical and human geography, encouraging learners to investigate geographical patterns, interpret evidence, and consider different perspectives.
Geography Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across relevant key stages
- Explore physical, human, and environmental geography through varied activities
- Use maps, data, case studies, and digital resources to strengthen understanding
- Encourage students to investigate geographical issues and evaluate evidence
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to support development
- Prepare examination groups through focused revision and assessment practice
Geography Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum
- Previous experience teaching Geography is desirable
- Ability to communicate geographical concepts clearly across different ability levels
- Effective planning, assessment, communication, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
