Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting confident and dependable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work with amazing schools in Barnsley. We are looking for individuals who can take responsibility for a class, communicate instructions clearly, and maintain a focused and productive environment across different subjects.
The Cover Supervisor is going to oversee pre-planned lessons during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged, complete assigned activities, and follow established classroom expectations.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes using lesson plans and resources prepared by teaching staff
- Introduce assigned activities and clarify instructions where required
- Encourage learners to remain focused and complete their work independently
- Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour and classroom conduct
- Respond to minor classroom issues in accordance with school procedures
- Provide useful feedback to teaching staff following each lesson
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, or a similar environment is desirable
- Confidence managing groups within a school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of effective classroom and behaviour management approaches
- Reliable, organised, and adaptable approach to different subjects and year groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
