Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow and enjoy their time at school? A welcoming primary school in Chesterfield is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 with their learning and day-to-day development. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide classroom support, help children stay engaged with their work and offer additional guidance where needed. You may also support pupils with their social and emotional development, behaviour and pastoral needs.

Responsibilities:

Support pupils with learning activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

Work alongside the class teacher to support effective classroom routines.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.

Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.

Support age-appropriate behaviour and promote positive interactions.

Assist with pupils' social, emotional and pastoral development.

Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning activities where appropriate.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children in an educational or similar setting is desirable.

A patient, caring and encouraging approach.
-
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to support pupils with different learning and pastoral needs.

Confidence working alongside teachers and other school staff.
-
A genuine interest in helping children achieve their potential.
-
Experience within EYFS, KS1 or KS2 would be advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
