GSL Education are currently seeking a confident and committed Maths Teacher to join a specialist school in York on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who combines strong GCSE Maths subject knowledge with the confidence and patience to work with pupils with SEN and additional needs.

The Role as a Maths Teacher

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Maths lessons, supporting pupils to develop their mathematical knowledge and confidence while adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality Maths lessons up to GCSE level.
  • Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs.
  • Adapting lessons and resources to suit different abilities and learning styles.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Supporting students who may have barriers to learning, helping them remain engaged and make progress.
  • Managing behaviour calmly and consistently.
  • Assessing progress and providing appropriate feedback and support.
  • Working closely with colleagues and the wider school team to support pupil development.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Maths Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has strong subject knowledge and experience teaching GCSE Maths.
  • Is confident working with pupils with SEN and additional needs.
  • Has a calm, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to education.
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is passionate about helping every pupil achieve their potential.
