Science Teacher – Oldham

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Salary: M1-M6 pay scale, £175 - £240  per day (supply) / MPS/UPS pro rata (long-term/permanent)
Contract: Long-Term Supply
Start Date: ASAP

We are recruiting a Secondary Science Teacher for a school in Oldham, with an immediate start. This is a great opportunity for a confident science teacher who wants a settled placement, with long-term and permanent opportunities available for the right person.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4, in line with the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with the opportunity to teach within your specialism
  • Deliver safe, well-organised practical lessons, including required practicals, following departmental risk assessments
  • Assess pupil progress, mark work and provide clear feedback to support GCSE outcomes
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
  • Support pupils with SEND through adaptive teaching and work closely with the science department and SENCO
  • Follow school safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
  • Degree in Science or a related subject (Biology, Chemistry or Physics specialism)
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school
  • Confident behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • ECTs and NQTs welcome to apply
