Contract Type: Full-Time

Salary: £92.68 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a welcoming primary school in the M8 area. This is a full-time role dedicated to helping a young learner overcome barriers to education and build positive self-esteem in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 academic, emotional, and social support throughout the school day.

  • Implement tailored regulation strategies and de-escalation techniques when required.

  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and outside agencies to monitor progress.

  • Create a safe, structured, and encouraging environment for the pupil.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.

  • Excellent communication, patience, and de-escalation skills.

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent background in youth/care work) is preferred.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
