Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

Can you help young people turn challenging behaviour into positive progress by providing consistent guidance, clear boundaries, and meaningful support?

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting confident and resilient Behaviour Support staff to work in schools across Doncaster. We are looking for individuals who can develop positive relationships with students, respond constructively to difficult situations, and encourage better engagement with learning and school life.

As a Behaviour Support, you will work closely with learners who require additional behavioural or emotional guidance, helping them develop self-regulation, improve their choices, and build more productive relationships with others.

Behaviour Support Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted guidance to young people experiencing behavioural difficulties
  • Recognise triggers and respond appropriately to signs of frustration or disengagement
  • Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies when required
  • Reinforce clear expectations, routines, and appropriate boundaries
  • Encourage students to reflect on their choices and develop alternative responses
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to maintain consistent approaches

Behaviour Support Requirements:

  • Experience in education, mentoring, youth work, care, or a related environment is desirable
  • Understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations
  • Confidence establishing boundaries and building constructive relationships
  • Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
