Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Could you confidently lead a classroom, keep young people engaged, and ensure lessons run smoothly when the regular teacher is unavailable?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in excellent schools across Worksop. We are looking for individuals who can take responsibility for a class, communicate instructions clearly, and maintain a purposeful learning environment across different subjects and year groups.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee pre-prepared lessons during teacher absence, ensuring students understand their assigned work, remain productive, and follow established classroom expectations.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes using lesson plans and resources prepared by teaching staff
- Introduce assigned tasks and clarify instructions where necessary
- Maintain an orderly environment and reinforce appropriate classroom expectations
- Encourage learners to remain focused and complete their work independently
- Manage minor behavioural issues in accordance with school procedures
- Provide teaching staff with feedback on engagement, conduct, and work completed
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, or a similar setting is desirable
- Confidence supervising groups within a school environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding of effective classroom and behaviour management approaches
- Flexible and reliable approach to working across different subjects and year groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
