SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD – Southgate

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting students with high and complex ASD needs?

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD to join a welcoming all-through SEN school in Southgate, N14, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN professional to gain valuable experience supporting students with complex additional needs while working within a supportive school environment. With potential for regular work for the right candidate leading to a permanent contract, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your SEN career.

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – High and Complex ASD

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Contract: Ad Hoc Supply Work

  • Hours: 8:15am – 3:45pm



About the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Provide dedicated support to students with high and complex ASD needs.

  • Support students with their learning, communication, wellbeing and development.

  • Provide 1:1 support where required and adapt approaches to individual needs.

  • Support students with a range of SEN needs across different year groups.

  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting students with ASD/SEN and very high needs.

  • Recent school-based experience.

  • Experience supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis.

  • Able to support students with a range of SEN needs.

  • Flexible and able to work across KS1–KS2.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

  • Right to Work in the UK.

  • Two to three professional references covering the last two to three years.
