Job Title: Teacher of Maths

Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time, Term Time Only

Salary Scale: £174.70 to £270.94 per day (MPS/UPS)
Are you a passionate Maths Teacher who can inspire pupils to develop confidence, curiosity, and strong mathematical understanding? GSL Education Hull Branch are currently hiring a dedicated Teacher of Maths to work in an educational setting in York.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons, support pupils of different abilities, and contribute positively to a collaborative department. The successful candidate will be committed to high expectations while making Maths accessible and engaging for all learners.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons that develop pupils’ knowledge, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
- Use a range of teaching approaches and resources to make mathematical concepts clear and accessible.
- Differentiate lessons effectively to support pupils who need additional guidance while challenging higher-attaining learners.
- Assess pupils’ understanding and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching where appropriate.
- Establish positive classroom routines and maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the educational setting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree or relevant qualification in Maths or a closely related subject.
- Previous experience teaching Maths at secondary level is desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge with the ability to communicate mathematical concepts clearly.
- Excellent classroom management, organisation, and communication skills.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
