SEN Teaching Assistant – NG17

£100–£110 per day | Supply Basis | Potential Long-Term & Permanent Opportunities

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school setting in the NG17 area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

The role will initially be offered on a supply basis, providing an opportunity to get to know the school, pupils and staff team. For the right candidate, there is strong potential for long-term and permanent opportunities.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Support pupils with their learning, communication, social and emotional development.
  • Help create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and wider support staff to deliver individualised support.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils to develop their confidence, independence and life skills.
  • Follow individual support plans and contribute to a consistent approach across the setting.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working with SEN or additional needs.
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support pupils both academically and pastorally.
  • Experience with ASD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD or complex needs would be advantageous.

You must have the right to work in the UK and either hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

Pay: £100–£110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
